Even today it is an adventure to fly 10,000 miles through the air, and to do so you must take and airplane, or maybe even more. Most birds could do it but they just need a rest in-between the flight marathon.
Archeologists along with historians believe that a flying reptile ( sort of like the king of the sky) lived 70 million years ago, according to Micheal Habib  10,000 miles wasn’t a far to fly in one trip sort of thing. In a recent study Habib described 4 huge types of this flying beast, he called them the pterosaurs. Now as we now know the pterosaurs had the ability to fly a very long distance in just one flight. You might think that this flying creature is a dinosaur,( sorry Dino fans) but it actually isn’t even though it may be closely related it is definitely not a flying dinosaur.
If Mr. Habib’s calculations are correct the pterosaurs are the world’s longest single-trip distance fliers in the history of the planet Earth, How cool is that a potential Guinness world record.
Habib is a scientist at a university in Pittsburg and researches biomechanics. For those of you who are wondering who are biomechanics, they are scientists who use the physical laws to study how different bodies work.  Because he had studied biomechanics finding how long pterosaurs could fly was no new task for Mr. Habib. Using previously made estimates Habib hade finally came up with a calculation which equaled the same distance a Jumbo jet covers for a trip to Sydney for New York City.
Archeologists say that this sky creature stood as tall as giraffes and flew like an airplane with 30 foot wings. Other researchers estimated that the heaviest of these creature weight 5500, which is more than an ostrich.
Personally I think that this is a really interesting discovery but I just can’t believe that it weighed 5500 and was tall as a giraffe and was still able to fly across the ocean without a rest. The Flintstones had their own version of Lufthansa.
